I have recently retired and after a number of years of absence from my blog, I have decided to rekindle my enjoyment of making cards and entering them in challenges. It will probably take me a while to look through the sites for card challenges, but I'm looking forward to gaining inspiration from the many card makers out there.

Surfer Little Todd

This is my first blog since the birth of my youngest grandson born in November 2010. I seem to have spent alot of my spare time knitting for him as he was a small baby and needed to be kept warm, it was also one of the coldest winters we have had for years. Thankfully he is now better able to maintain his body heat and also the weather has warmed up,so I have put my knitting needles away.
I really like the way this card has turned out, it's one that will suit quite a few members of my family. The card looks a bit pink in the photo but it is a shade of orange.

The digital image is a freebie from
http://beccysplace.blogspot.com/2011/02/little-todd.html coloured on my computer
The plain backing paper is from the Paper Mill
Ribbon from Anitas (sticky back)

Paper Flowers

Over at Crafty Cardmakers they have a tutorial for paper flowers. I found it very easy to follow and I'm pleased with my first attempt, I used scraps of paper to make them as I wasn't sure how they would turn out. Because I didn't have the glue and glitter used in the tutorial, I used glitter glue around the edges which is very subtle and doesn't show up very well in the photo. The link to the tutorial is  http://inspirationaltechniquesandtutorials.blogspot.com/2010/04/pretty-vintage-paper-flower-posies.html

My very first blog

I have decided to start entering card challanges and since most of the challanges require you to post your entry on your blog, I have had to start blogging. I'm not sure how many challanges I will enter as my inspiration comes and goes and I find it quite hard to make cards on demand, but I thought if I had a blog set up I would be ready when it appeared.. I'm also not sure how much if any actual bloging I will do but I'm ready to give it a go.
